JOCELYN ROBERTS

I am a Welsh artist of 12 years, studied through Bangor University.

My passion for painting the land, sea and sky comes from living on the North Wales coast all my life.

My practice is formed from sketching and painting en plein air and also working up larger more  emotionally led pieces in my studio in Old Colwyn.

The projects and paintings of the coastline have come from wanting to capture moments of weather and the elements quickly and accurately in acrylics or oils.

These pieces evoke a sense of self in relation to place and the wild rhythms of the seasons.    

Hopefully you will find they are an unadulterated study of the Welsh climate and conditions here on the coast.

I found that most days are ordinary and some truly extraordinary.
